BARS / CHURCH / ISM UNIVERSITY / NEIGHBORHOOD / VILNIUS ARCHDIOCESE

Only a sober nation can survive

During our November 6, 2012 meeting with representatives of the Vilnius Archdiocese and ISM University we learned that the Church was intent and adamant on pursuing its profitable  “business plan“ which allows the sale of alcohol in a newly renovated building on the ISM University campus in Vilnius.

We invite you to read about meetings with the Archdiocese regarding this matter by viewing our previous posts:

Our appeals and requested were being ignored by the Archdiocese.

Therefore we turned to NTAKK – the National Tobacco and Alcohol Control Coalition of Lithuania –  for assistance.

Attached below is the November 26, 21013  letter which the president of the NTAKK wrote to Vilnius mayor Artūras Zuokas  regarding the Archdiocese plans to sell alcohol on the ISM University campus.

Also attached is the letter which the ‘Bishop M. Valančius‘s  temperance movement’ wrote supporting our position and initiative against the sale of alcohol on the ISM University campus. This letter was addressed to the  Cardinal Archbishop of Vilnius, the Archbishop of Kaunas and the Lithuanian Bishops’ Conference,
